Hassan: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar said that whoever gets a ticket in the Congress Party should work hard for the victory. He said that the person is not important here but the party is important.
Inaugurating the massive convention of the 2nd round of Prajadhvani Yatra, organised at the Government College Grounds he said, Former Minister B. Shivaram, Former Gram Panchayat Member Y. N. Krishnegowda, Granite Rajashekhar, and Keerthana Rudreshgowda should all come together and work hard for the victory of whoever gets a ticket. He said that the Congress is the only party in the Country which has worked for the betterment of all castes and religions by formulating pro-people programmes in accordance with the Constitution written by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
“The BJP Government, which is ruling a double engine Government in the State and the Country against the Constitution, should be overthrown in this election. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah are frequently visiting this State when elections are nearing. But when Covid and floods came, there was no looking back at the State,” he mocked.
“Thousands of people lost their homes and properties in North Karnataka and Kodagu due to floods but they did not respond to the problem. But now they come and go four or five times a month,” he said.
“MLA Y. N. Rudresh Gowda has done development works as a two-time MLA. When the BJP tried to woo Rudresh Gowda by performing ‘Operation Kamala’, he remained a donor for his loyalty to the party. Whenever the Congress party was in power, it implemented pro-people schemes and was appreciated by the people. But for the present BJP Government, the sole aim is to make money out of corruption. Crores of rupees were misappropriated in the recruitment of PSI Scam. They have done injustice to thousands of job seekers,” he alleged.
“The BJP Government had promised to provide jobs to hundreds of youth and let anyone show if even one has got a job,” he questioned. BJP said that they would bring black money from abroad and put Rs. 15 lakh in the account, he said and asked if anyone had seen ‘achhe din’.
