Sakleshpur: One of the trademarks of the election campaign by the JDS’ first family, is using emotional issues to win over the hearts of the voters. On Wednesday, April 3, former prime minister H D Devegowda used the same strategy in a village in the Sakleshpur taluk.
Addressing a party rally, he reserved his speech to recall his bonding with the district. “The district people gave me political powers. I will die on this soil only. I will merge with the soil of this district,” Gowda said with tears in his eyes.
“Hassan is my karmabhumi. But due to political compulsion, I have moved to Tumakuru. Don’t misunderstand this. Hassan will always be the first thing that comes to mind,” he said.
He also stated that in Tumakuru, DCM Dr G Parameshwar is leading his campaign and is that he is confident of an easy victory.
