Shivamogga: District Congress president H S Sundresh has called the “Howdy Modi” programme, organized yesterday in Houston, a mere strategy to boost US President Donald Trump’s chances of winning in the 2020 presidential elections.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, September 23, Sundresh opined, “Money has been wasted on yesterday’s ‘Howdy Modi’, event as it was just a strategy to improve Donald Trump’s chances in the upcoming US presidential elections.”
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement, yesterday, that India’s GDP has reached 7.8 percent, was nothing but a lie. He also spoke about the ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission. All these clearly indicate that this was a promotion for Donald Trump in the next US presidential elections”, he added.
Criticizing PM Modi on the employment crisis, Sundresh said, “The age limit for retirement has been increased from 60 to 65 years for Central Government employees in order to bring stability in the creation of job opportunities, whereas around 10 crore youths have failed to get jobs. This will surely invite problems.”
Lashing out at the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa-led state government for not acting promptly in getting the flood relief funds, he said, “The state government should pressurize the Central Government to release the flood relief funds. Instead, the delegation met with the Central Government to discuss the disqualified legislators. This is a very unfortunate situation.”
“As the state government has failed miserably in getting the Centre to sanction the relief funds, the Congress party workers from Shivamogga will be joining the protest tomorrow in Belagavi,” he informed.
