Shivamogga: The district will soon house its own FM Radio Station which will be known as Radio Shivamogga 90.8. The Station has been approved by the Department of Telecommunication. The Station will be run by Kodachadri Integrated Development Society (KIDS) under Environment Studies Centre.
The Government has asked the FM to go on air in next six months. However, the publicity campaign will start in next four months. The radio station will operate from Ratnakara Nagara near Agriculture College here and the programme will be on air between 6.00 and 8.00 pm.
Our goal is to identify the talent in the district and be the voice of the voiceless. Keeping Shivamogga town as the centre, the programme can be heard up to 30-km-range around the town, said KIDS Secretary G. L. Janardhan.
