Bhadravati: Major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar has succeeded in bringing together Bhadravati MLA B K Sangamesh of the Congress party and his arch-rival, JDS leader Appaji Gowda together. Both the leaders shared a stage together after nearly 15 years.
DKShi, who has been tasked with coordinating the Shivamogga Lok Sabha election campaign for the Congress-JDS alliance candidate Madhu Bangarappa, was able to convince both the leaders, who had earlier announced that they will campaign for the candidate separately.
Speaking to reporters at 1 AM, DKShi announced that both Sangamesh and Appaji Gowda will campaign together in this election. “Our aim is defeating the BJP,” he said.
Meanwhile, BJP national president Amit Shah will hold a roadshow in Bhadravati on Saturday noon. Former CM, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa will accompany him.
