Shivamogga: Shivamogga district police on Tuesday, June 9 succeeded to nab a person who was an accused in firing case and had escaped recently.
The arrested has been identified as Kunije Manjunath Gowda. According to the police sources, the accused Manjunath Gowda opened fire upon a person namely Ramachandrappa, while he was riding a bullet motorcycle near Hanagere Katte recently. The accused Manjunath Gowda had justified his move saying he is allergic to the bullet sound. Following the incident, Ramachandrappa registered an FIR with the police against Manjunath Gowda.
However, accused Manjunath Gowda attempted to file a counter case against Ramachandrappa and got himself admitted to a hospital in the city. Meanwhile, to avert arrest from the police, he then escaped from the hospital.
Based on a tip-off, a special police team headed by inspector Abhay Prakash, under the direction of Superintendent of Police KM Shantharaju nabbed the accused Manjunath Gowda on Tuesday. The accused was taken to Mcgann Hospital for medical check-up and he would be produced before the court soon, SP KM Shantharaju informed.
