Shivamogga: A granddaughter adopted by a person performed his final rites in Basavanagudi in Bhadravati taluk of Shivamogga district.
Basavanagudi resident Nanjundappa, 104-year-old passed away on Friday July 2. As he had lost two of his sons early, he had adopted a girl as granddaughter by name Ashwini.
As his other relatives didn’t turn up, granddaughter Ashwini performed the final rites. She performed all the rituals according to the local traditions. Villagers helped her perform the rituals.
