I will work towards fulfilling people’s dreams for Shivamogga: CM Yeddyurappa

Shivamogga: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa assured people here that he would fulfil all their dreams for the region. Speaking after inaugurating the two-day programme, Nannolume at Old prison to mark his birthday celebrations here on Sunday February 28, he also promised to work for the development of the state in next two years. Yeddyurappa celebrated his 79th birthday on Saturday February 27.

Noting that he has made a lot of development in Shivamogga already, Yeddyurappa assured that he will see to it that every development work aspired by people of the region is undertaken by him so that nothing is left to develop for region representatives, who are elected in the future. He stressed on living life with self-respect and taking criticism in his stride. He added that taking the right path and having a set goal makes one immune to all criticisms.

On the occasion, he also announced that he wants to tour the entire state in coming days and get 130-140 seats for BJP on its own strength. He expressed his joy and astonishment at being wished by the Indian President, Prime Minister and Governors, Chief Ministers of all other states on his birthday.

Reminiscing his struggling days, Yeddyurappa said that he was once selling vegetables along with his in-laws in Mandya. He thanked RSS for giving him opportunity to mould his personality and grow to a stature that he is in today. He also remembered that he settled in Shikaripura after he attended a programme of RSS and then over the years with the support of the people here, he rose to become the chief minister of the state. Further, Yeddyurappa spoke about how he fought for getting qualitative meal for prison inmates during his stay in the prison during emergency.

RSS Pranth Sahkaryavah M. Pattabhirama, Rural Development And Panchayat Raj Minister K.S. Eshwarappa, Minister Of State For Urban Development Byrati Basavaraj and Former Speaker D.H. Shankaramurthy spoke on the occasion.
