Shivamogga: In a shocking incident, a jilted love slit the throat of the girl he loved, at her wedding venue, in Sagara of Shivamogga district.
It is said that Surekha (name changed) was all set to get married to Bharat from Bhimanakone of Sagar and couple of rituals were even over when the accused identified as Nandan barged and slit Surekha’s throat with a knife.
When Surekha’s uncle Gangadharappa rushed to her rescue, even he was assaulted by the accused. Both Surekha and Gangadharappa were first taken to Sagar Sub divisional hospital and were then rushed to Shivamogga for advanced treatment.
It is said that Nandan, an RTO broker was in love with Surekha over the last six months, but Surekha refused to accept his love. Raged by the same, Nandan decided to settle scores by resorting to this extreme step.
He was handed over to the rural police by the relatives of the victims.
