Shivamogga: Sandalwood actor Shivarajkumar wears a mask and has shown double standards by visiting the district to campaign for the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition candidate Madhu Bangarappa, alleged MLA from Bharatiya Janata Party, Kumar Bangarappa here on Thursday, April 11.
Addressing a press meet, Kumar Bangarappa who is a sibling of Madhu Bangarappa, said, “Both Shivarajkumar and his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar, who is my sister, have come to the district ostensibly, to promote the actor’s next release ‘Kavacha.’ But, in reality, they have come to promote Madhu Bangarappa.”
Taunting the couple, he said, “It is strange to see that both Shivarajkumar and Geetha Shivarajkumar appear in the district only during elections. Previously too, when Madhu had contested the Assembly elections, they were here.”
“They had promised of serving the people of the district but they were not seen after the elections”, he added.
Reacting to Shivarajkumar’s statement of ‘revenge politics’ he said, “He must once visit Mandya and see what is going on there and then will he know what the reality is.”
Meanwhile, he urged the electorate to defeat Madhu Bangarappa once again like they did in the 2018 Assembly elections
Kumar said, “Even though I lost in the previous elections, I had made sure that the people of my district do not face any shortcomings with regard to the schemes and funds released by state and the Centre.
He criticised Madhu for campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls in the name of those who died due to Monkey Fever.
It may be recalled that Shivarajkumar had confirmed that he would not campaign for any Lok Sabha candidates and was not supporting any political parties.
