Public cooperation is essential to control Covid second wave: KS Eshwarappa

Shivamogga: District in-charge minister KS Eshwarappa has instructed officials to take stringent actions in order to implement lockdown in the district, to control the second wave Covid 19. 

He held a meeting of senior officials to review the measures taken to control the Covid pandemic at the new auditorium of the DC office on Tuesday, April 27.

“The police department must strictly enforce government guidelines on lockdown. The public should not leave the house except for the time allotted for the purchase of essential items,” he said.

He said public cooperation is essential for the regulation of the Covid second wave.

He said the task force committee in the villages must ensure that the travelers visiting from Bengaluru mandatorily be in home isolation. A Meeting of officials and local representatives of all taluks would be held in the next few days to review the measures being taken at the taluk level, he added.

Superintendent of Police Laxmiprasad said that the people had cooperated well during the weekend curfew, and in cases of violation of the guidelines, people are fined and vehicles were confiscated.

Senior officials including District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer ML Vaishali were also present.
