Shivamogga: A car driver stole Rs. 8 Lakh of arecanut sale money. The incident took place when the owner was returning from Kerebilachi Village in Channagiri to Jatpatanagara in Shikaripura. The owner found that money was not there by the time he returned after offering namaz.

Mohammad Imran, a resident of Kerebilachi Village in Channagiri Taluk, along with his driver Mohammed Mumiyaz and friend Amjad, came to Asif’s House in Jatpatanagara in Shikaripura to check the arecanut in a Hyundai Creta car.

Speaking to the friend, after offering namaz, he came to the car and saw that Mumiyaz was not near the car. Rs. 8.5 lakh kept under the seat cover too was not to be seen. The duo waited for a long time thinking that he might have gone for dinner, but there was no sign of him.
