Shivamogga: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that the Rashtriya Raksha Vishwavidyalaya will be started in Shivamogga and added that Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and he had visited the University in Ahmedabad.
Addressing a press conference, he said that 8 acres of land has been sanctioned in Navle 112. Temporarily, the University has been allotted a room in the Central school which was earlier in Ragigudda. Starting from the current academic year, there will be a Diploma and Degree, Postgraduation separately from other universities. Teaching will be held here, especially for the Department of National Defence and The Department of Internal Security,” he said.
“Cyber, Diploma in Police Science, Basic Course in Corporate Security Management, Diploma in Criminal Investigation, Post Graduation Diploma in Cyber Security Management, Two Week Certificate Programme on Physical Fitness, Management, Post Graduation Diploma in Coastal Security and AMP Law Enforcement courses will be started. In the job-oriented education, 5000 people are recruited every year. This will benefit those who want to join the Home Department,” he said.
“It comes under the Central goverznment. Now it is only in Ahmedabad. Shivamogga will have the second university in the Country. There was an attempt to bring in Forensic Science Laboratory Division (FSL ) University. But the project has been sent to Hubbali,” he said.
He added that the training period given by the police will be reduced for the students who have studied in this Raksha University. “The trainings are flooded with candidates. This will be beneficial,” he said and added that priority will be given to people from Karnataka in Raksha University, Shivamogga.
