Shivamogga: The Sharavati Submergence Farmers’ Padayatra will be held on Monday November 28. The padayatra will start from Ayanur to Shivamogga City. Later, a public meeting will be held at NES ground, said Madhu Bangarappa, Former MLA of Soraba and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Backward Class State President.

Addressing a press conference, he said BJP leaders have woken up after the padayatra. Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa and current CM Bommai are creating more trouble to people. They say they will fix the problem within 15 days and added that the MPs from the District have not raised the issue of farmers’ licence in Parliament so far.

“People are suffering due to many issues including Sharavati, Bagar Hukum, Kasturirangan Report.

Kagodu Thimmappa has given the letter. However, it has been dismissed by the present Government, he noted.

He questioned, why is the CM, who talks about ability, power not talking now? Why is the CM, who talks about caste, religion, not talking about the people who are suffering in the District due to submergence? That is why we are fighting, he said and appealed to the people of the District to participate in large numbers for the padayatra scheduled to be held on Monday November 28.
