Shivamogga: Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, K. S. Eshwarappa took a jibe at Siddaramaiah saying that he was hallucinating about him being the future Chief Minister. He was speaking to media persons here on Saturday, April 3.

Siddaramaiah has lost to BJP in Chamundeshwari constituency in Mysuru, therefore Siddaramaiah is assuming that if Yediyurappa resigns, he has a chance to become the future Chief Minister, he mocked. There is no way Yediyurappa will send his resignation and if Siddaramaiah feels that CM has to resign due to my letter to Governor then that is just a hallucination, he maintained.

To a question by the media on whether the differences between Eshwarappa and Yediyurappa will become a weapon for the opposition in the coming by election, he said “if not this issue, the opposition would have used some other issue as a weapon and this is very normal in politics.”

“The BJP workers in the state are united. The booth level election campaign by the workers at Belagavi, Maski and Basavakalyan is a proof of this,” he stated.

He also asserted that the BJP government in centre and state have done a lot of development work for the people. “Therefore, the congress cannot use the issue of me meeting the governor and handing over a letter against us. The people know that BJP has done good work and this will keep us in good stead.”

Admitting that there are small administrative differences, he said “we will mend the mistake as we progress, However, what the opposition is trying to do, holding onto to these differences will not bear truth.”

Easwarappa in lighter note said that “you keep taking new dates from Yatnal,” answering a query by the media in the wake of statement by Basangouda Patil Yatnal saying May 2 will bring new wave in state politics.

Elaborating on the issue, he said “we have advised Yatnal, the way he has to be advised.” He added that he is a good Hindutva leader and has been instrumental in setting up Mini Goshalas. “However, in this matter, why Yatnal is using such statement, I have no idea, despite receiving notices from High command.” This is an issue which needs to be sorted by the High command, he expressed.

Finally speaking on the signature campaign against him, he said “its already an old issue now. Soon after I said that, this will not pull me down.” It has lost its steam, he stressed.
