Recently, in Belagavi and Bidar we have arrested some accused in this regard and are constantly tracking social media handles like WhatsApp Facebbok etc. There will be non-bailable arrests and FIR will be registered, he told media persons in the DAR Hall on September 6.
A special information and tracking of social media centre is arranged in Shivamogga S P office to track the senders of malicious messages. Even those who create those types of messages will be traced by this centre and will be punished.
Speaking about cannabis production and peddling, he said there was a strict vigil and the offenders will be punished, the focus being on controlling the menace in schools and colleges. “We need full cooperation from the school and college administrations in this matter. The Education Department must support the police department in this regard,” he added.
A search is on everyday for illegal Bangladesh refugees and at the same time, a report is being submitted, he informed.
Panth also stated that the communal clashes in the jurisdiction had reduced and best efforts were on to bring peace and love between human beings.
Shivamogga District SP Abhinav Khare said that safety measures had been ensured for Ganesha Chaturthi festival and meetings of 22 Mohalla Committee meetings conducted. Those wanting to install Ganesha idol must have submitted all the details to the nearest police station, he added.
