Kanakapura: A man from Bengaluru has been booked at the Rural Police Station in Kanakapura for allegedly blackmailing a woman by sending her obscene photos via WhatsApp. The accused, identified as Abeeb Ulla Khan, is accused of threatening a woman from Timmasandra village with her private photographs.

According to the police, Khan had previously engaged in similar behaviour. During a prior incident, he was summoned for questioning and had claimed that he was married to the complainant. He had even provided a written apology, promising not to repeat the offence.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that Khan had been sending her private photographs and threatening to post them on social media if she did not comply with his demands. She stated that the accused had been persistently intimidating her with threats of making the images public.

The Rural Police have registered the case and launched an investigation into the incident. This case underlines the increasing prevalence of cyber harassment and the exploitation of private photographs for blackmail purposes.
