An elderly couple reportedly died by suicide in Belagola village, Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, after hanging themselves from a tree at an Eidgah ground. The incident, believed to have occurred two days ago, came to light only after the decomposed bodies emitted a foul smell. Police suspect boredom and loneliness as the motive. The identities of the couple remain unknown. KRS police have visited the site and begun an investigation.
