Union Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy participated in paddy sapling planting in Mandya district’s Sithapur village following a 10-day Mysuru Chalo Padayatra addressing the MUDA scam. Kumaraswamy expressed his joy at working with farmers, noting their satisfaction with this year’s good rainfall. He emphasized that farming is a family tradition and expressed happiness at joining the farming community for this year’s cultivation.
Kumaraswamy also shared his disappointment over not being appointed as the Agriculture Minister in the Union Cabinet, stating that while he had hoped for the role, he trusts the current Agriculture Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, to address farmers’ issues effectively.
Amidst this, Kumaraswamy critiqued the current Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alleging involvement in the MUDA and Valmiki Corporation scams. The BJP-JD(S) coalition’s protest march demanded Siddaramaiah’s resignation over these allegations. In response, the Congress launched the ‘Jan Andolan Yatra’ to counter these claims. Siddaramaiah, facing accusations from social activist Snehamayi Krishna of forging documents for land plots, has rebutted these allegations as attempts to destabilize his government after “Operation Kamala” failed.
The BJP has further accused Siddaramaiah of misappropriating land intended for the Dalit community, intensifying the ongoing political controversy.
