The district administration of Mandya, Karnataka, has introduced a rehabilitation strategy for the 22 students from Meghalaya who suffered from food poisoning. Once the affected students are discharged from the hospital, they will be accommodated at the Rehabilitation Center or Bala Mandir Center. Here, they will receive guidance and care under the supervision of the district’s Child Protection Officer.

In addition to providing a safe environment, the administration will strictly monitor the students’ dietary intake, ensuring they follow the meal plans prescribed by doctors for full recovery. This comprehensive plan was formulated during a review meeting chaired by Mandya Deputy Commissioner, with participation from various stakeholders.

Acknowledging the importance of the students’ academic commitments, the administration has prioritized arrangements for them to take their upcoming final exams at the Bala Mandir Center itself, ensuring minimal disruption to their studies.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairman, along with the Meghalaya team, visited the school where the incident took place and inspected the hospital facilities. Reports indicate that all students are recovering well, except for one who remains stable but is being treated in the ICU.

Earlier, Mandya officials assured full cooperation by agreeing to share all pertinent documents with Meghalaya authorities, including FIR copies, arrest records, and detailed reports submitted to the Karnataka government.
