Mangaluru – A major road mishap at Madya in Surathkal on Wednesday left 25 individuals injured, including 14 students and two bus drivers, following a head-on collision between two buses.
Sources report that the incident occurred when a bus en route from Madya to Chelyaru was struck by another vehicle allegedly being driven on the wrong side of the road in a reckless manner. The force of the crash caused significant injuries to many onboard, with four passengers critically hurt.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, and all injured individuals were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The passengers included daily commuters and students, many of whom were reportedly on their way to classes or work.
Police have registered a case at the Mangaluru North traffic police station, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and responsibility for the accident.
