
76-Year-Old Pedestrian Injured by Construction Grinder Near Melkar

A 76-year-old man, Padmanabha Shenoi, was injured after being hit by a construction grinder near Bolangadi, close to Melkar. The incident took place while Shenoi was walking along the roadside amidst ongoing roadwork on the National Highway, managed by KNR Construction Company.
According to witnesses, the grinder’s driver, Rajkumar Yadav, was operating recklessly. The vehicle, identified as TS-36-C-6757, veered unexpectedly from the Melkar side and struck Shenoi without warning.
Shenoi has been hospitalized in Mangaluru for treatment following the accident. His son, Guruprasad, has lodged a formal complaint with the Melkar Traffic Police. The police have since launched an investigation and visited the scene to gather evidence.
