Shashikala Puthran, a housekeeping staff member at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), has earned widespread admiration for her acts of honesty. On two separate occasions, Shashikala found valuable items and returned them without hesitation. In the first incident, she discovered a packet containing ₹13,500 and immediately handed it over to airport authorities. In a second instance, she found a diamond-studded bracelet at the busy drop-off area and went the extra mile to reunite it with its rightful owner, Geetha Bantwal.
Geetha, overwhelmed with gratitude, expressed her appreciation for Shashikala’s integrity and the prompt assistance provided by the airport staff, including the CISF officer and terminal manager. Mangaluru International Airport recognized Shashikala’s dedication, particularly highlighting her 14-year tenure of service. The airport praised her for setting a sterling example of honesty and for instilling confidence in passengers about the safety of their belongings.
Shashikala’s actions remind us that integrity and kindness remain strong pillars of humanity, especially in an environment as bustling as an airport.
