Samuel Dragomire, a 23-year-old American with a passion for languages, has embarked on a journey to the coastal district of Mangaluru to delve into the local languages and culture of Tulunadu. Having already mastered Kannada and Tulu through online coaching while in the USA, Samuel, currently pursuing higher studies in data analytics engineering, plans to spend several weeks in Mangaluru and its surroundings, participating in religious and cultural events.

Traversing through Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, Samuel eagerly engages in traditional rituals like ‘kola’. Fluent in Tulu and proficient in Portuguese, he expresses admiration for the region’s faith and hospitality. His exploration includes visits to prominent landmarks like Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple, Kadri Park, Tannirbavi Beach, and local eateries like Pabbas Ice Cream Parlour.

Driven by a desire to deepen his understanding of Tulunadu’s rich culture, Samuel delights in the linguistic diversity, relishing dishes like kori sukka and bangude fish while appreciating the warmth of the people. Amidst his travels, Samuel’s immersion in Tulunadu leaves an indelible mark, standing out amidst his global adventures.
