Mangaluru: The Sahyadri Institute and College of Nursing, Kulur, celebrated its Annual Sports Day – AURA-2k25 with spirited energy and enthusiastic involvement from students and faculty on April 25.

National-level athlete Sonith Mendon inaugurated the event as chief guest, joined by administrator Uma Shetty, principal Prof Merlin Sheeba Jinto, and sports coordinator Ronita Serra. The program began with a welcome speech by Jenitha Andrade, assistant lecturer, and a sports oath led by Stella, the student sports leader.

Addressing the gathering, Sonith Mendon encouraged students to embrace both victory and defeat with dignity and highlighted the role of sports in building teamwork, resilience, and confidence.

The event featured multiple athletic competitions with active student participation. Astin Saju emerged as the individual champion in the men’s category, while Anjana Joy took the title in the women’s category, celebrating their athletic excellence.

Prof David Rakesh D’Souza extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the dedication of the organizing team and the enthusiastic contribution of all participants, making AURA-2k25 a memorable and successful event.
