In a miraculous turn of events, auto-rickshaw driver Venugopala Devamoole narrowly escaped serious injury after his vehicle plunged off the Kukchumbala bridge in Aletty village. The accident occurred as Devamoole was returning to Peraje after dropping off a passenger in Devamoole.
The auto-rickshaw suffered significant damage from the fall, and recovery efforts are currently underway to retrieve the vehicle from the base of the bridge. Despite the severe damage, Devamoole was fortunate to escape without serious harm, a fact attributed to the low water levels at the bridge site, which prevented a potential tragedy.
The incident underscores the need for heightened safety measures on bridges and improved road conditions to prevent such accidents in the future. The quick response from local authorities and the favorable water conditions likely played a crucial role in avoiding a more severe outcome.
