Prakash V N, an auto-rickshaw driver by profession, has seamlessly blended the fast-paced reality of city life with his deep passion for drama and writing. Despite spending long hours navigating busy streets, he finds refuge in storytelling, using it as a way to explore emotions and human experiences. His daily encounters with people and their stories inspire much of his writing, allowing him to capture the subtleties of life through the lens of drama.
Born in Kasargod and raised in Urwa Store, Prakash has harbored a love for drama since his school days. He penned his first play at the age of 14, marking the beginning of a lifelong passion. His debut play, Mudayi Paddayi, took five years to complete and was showcased in Mangaluru. To date, Prakash has written ten plays, including Badayi Ill, Borchandappa Bodedi, and Naalgena Bhoomi, which garnered top honors in drama competitions in Kasargod. His play Badayi Ill was staged 20 times, winning hearts and praise across the region.
Though his plays remain unpublished in draft form, his recent success with his Kannada book Nammavanu Sri Ramachandra has motivated him to continue his creative journey. “I write for personal satisfaction, not for the stage, but the support of my friends encouraged me to share my work,” Prakash shared.
Despite his demanding job, Prakash remains committed to drama, often dedicating his free time to reading and writing. He plans to write a sequel to his book and another titled Gandhi Vs Godse, further cementing his dedication to both his profession and his creative pursuits.
