Bantwal: Pregnant Woman and Husband Found Dead in Suspected Suicide Case

Bantwal– A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Thursday morning in Badagundi village, falling under the Bantwal Rural Police Station limits, where a married couple was discovered dead in their home under mysterious circumstances.

The deceased have been identified as Timmappa Moolya (50) and his wife Jayanti (40). Preliminary findings suggest that Timmappa died by suicide, as he was found hanging inside the residence. His wife Jayanti, who was reportedly pregnant, was found lifeless on the bed, sparking suspicions of foul play.

The couple had been married for 15 years and had not conceived until recently. Jayanti’s baby shower (Seemantha) was scheduled for July 2, adding to the shock and grief surrounding the tragedy. While Timmappa lived in Mittamajalu, Jayanti was staying at her parental home in Badagundi during her pregnancy.

The cause of Jayanti’s death has not yet been determined, and police have not ruled out other possibilities. The exact sequence of events leading up to the dual fatalities remains uncertain.

Bantwal Rural Police Inspector Shivakumar visited the site, and a case has been registered. Forensic examinations and detailed inquiries are underway to establish whether it was a murder-suicide, double suicide, or any other scenario.

Authorities have assured a thorough probe and have urged the public to refrain from speculation as investigations continue.
