Bantwal: Rajesh Naik Calls Out Govt, Urges Statewide Protests
Bantwal: Local MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippady has come down heavily on the Congress-led Karnataka government, accusing it of misleading citizens with guarantee schemes while doubling taxes across sectors, increasing the financial burden on common people.
He was speaking after inaugurating the BJP Executive Committee meeting of the Bantwal Assembly Constituency and the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha, held at Sparsha Kalamandira on Wednesday, June 18.
Naik claimed the current government had become anti-people, necessitating a statewide protest on June 23 at every panchayat. “Protests and movements are not new to the BJP. Our party was shaped by struggles, and we are prepared to return to the streets,” he said, urging karyakartas to take an active role in these demonstrations.
He further alleged that over 50,000 residents in the district have been denied welfare benefits, stressing that the BJP must stand in solidarity with them. “The state’s administration is barely functional. We must raise our voice on behalf of the suffering masses,” he added.
Naik also affirmed that he would personally participate in a sit-in protest at Rayi village, following party directives.
BJP district president Satish Kumpala accused the government of functioning like an extortion racket, highlighting that 7,743 people in Bantwal constituency had received notices threatening pension cancellations. He called upon BJP workers to “wake up this sleeping administration.”
The event was chaired by BJP constituency president R Chennappa Kotian, with prominent leaders and office-bearers in attendance.
