Mangaluru: The Bantwal Rural Police have swiftly solved a theft case that occurred at a cloth shop in Farangipete, located in Pudu village, under their jurisdiction.
On the night between April 11 and 12, unknown culprits forcibly broke the shop’s shutter lock and stole cash from the counter. A case was filed at the Bantwal Rural Police Station under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Following a detailed investigation, police arrested Nazeer Mohammad (26), a resident of Kannur-Adyar village in Mangaluru taluk. Officers recovered ₹1,09,490 in cash from him — part of the stolen amount — and also seized the motorcycle used during the theft.
Further probe revealed that Nazeer had a previous criminal record. In 2024, he was involved in another theft, breaking the glass of a TVS showroom in Kannur and stealing money — a case registered at the Kankanady Town Police Station.
This successful operation was led by Police Inspector Shivakumar B along with his team from Bantwal Rural Police Station.
