A case was registered at Barke police station concerning the disappearance of 18-year-old Calista Ferrao from her home in Bejai on July 30. The Barke police, led by the inspector, launched an investigation, scrutinizing CCTV footage and the missing girl’s social media activity.
The police team meticulously verified over 3,000 Instagram and Moj accounts, which eventually led them to trace Calista’s location to Karkala. Upon finding her, it was observed that Calista was experiencing mental distress and struggling with decision-making.

Despite her parents’ efforts to bring her home, Calista refused to return. Consequently, she was sent to the Swadara Centre for further support and care.
