Mangaluru: The BJP has slammed the Karnataka State Budget for 2025-26, alleging that it prioritizes minority appeasement while sidelining other marginalized communities.

Satish Kumpala, president of the party’s Dakshina Kannada unit, claimed that provisions such as a 4% reservation in public works contracts for Muslims and schemes favoring the community neglect SCs, STs, and OBCs. He argued that the Budget lacks inclusivity.

Former BJP MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of ignoring the majority community and failing to address key sectors like industry, agriculture, and women’s welfare. Additionally, he pointed out the absence of a permanent resolution for guest teachers.

Echoing similar sentiments, MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta stated, “Appeasement is the foundation of Congress politics, and the Karnataka Budget reinforces it.” He further posted on X that the Budget is not only an act of blatant minority appeasement but also disregards Hindus, backward classes, and linguistic minorities.

BJP MLC Kishore Kumar Puttur also criticized the Budget, labeling it as driven by vote bank politics rather than overall development.
