Mangaluru: A BJP team will visit Dakshina Kannada on Monday to investigate the killings of Suhas Shetty, Abdul Rahiman, and other recent murders in the area. The delegation, headed by BJP state president BY Vijayendra and opposition leader R Ashoka, aims to understand the root causes behind these incidents and seek solutions to restore peace, BJP MLC CT Ravi said on Saturday.
Ravi stressed that the government must address the underlying reasons behind the communal clashes. “Peace is essential in the district, a demand also echoed by Congress leaders. Meanwhile, police are taking steps toward this goal,” he added. He pointed to illegal activities like cow smuggling, cow slaughter, love jihad, and forced religious conversions as key sources of communal tension, urging authorities to clamp down on these to maintain harmony.
He criticized the equal treatment of those involved in cow slaughter and those opposing it, calling it unconstitutional. Ravi also called on police and the government to dismantle the organized networks promoting love jihad, which he said has caused widespread suffering among families.
Highlighting PM Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047, Ravi alleged that groups like SIMI, PFI, and Indian Mujahideen work towards the Islamisation of the nation, funded by illegal trades such as ganja, drugs, betting, mining, and sand.
Ravi demanded a ban on religious texts promoting jihad and the destruction of non-believers, claiming such restrictions would promote communal harmony. He condemned the Congress party for not visiting Suhas Shetty’s family and accused the Congress government of targeting Hindutva leaders in the Abdul Rahiman murder case.
Responding to claims that CM Siddaramaiah dined at a hotel despite the stampede deaths, Ravi said, “If true, even God cannot forgive him. He should resign immediately.”
