BJP protests against brutal act on cows in Bengaluru
The BJP organized a demonstration in Mangaluru on Monday, condemning the shocking incident of mutilating cows in Chamarajpet, central Bengaluru. The protest was held outside the Mini Vidhana Soudha, where MLC Ravi Kumar accused the state authorities of neglecting the protection of cows. He criticized the government for offering only empty promises, calling the act disgraceful. Kumar also alleged that the CCTV cameras had been deliberately turned off to facilitate the crime.
He raised concerns about the uncontrolled trafficking and slaughter of cows in rural regions, pointing out that both cows and people were at risk. He demanded that the government resign if it couldn’t ensure the safety of cows, and urged compensation of at least Rs 5 lakh for the cow’s owner. Furthermore, he proposed transforming the land designated for a veterinary hospital into a cow shelter (gaushala).
Other BJP leaders, including MLC Pratap Simha Nayak and district president Satish Kumpala, echoed similar accusations, denouncing the government for not acting decisively against those involved in cow slaughter and trafficking. Kumpala also highlighted the rising incidents of violence against Hindus under the current administration, including the arrest of people attempting to prevent cow trafficking.
Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt also voiced his disapproval in a video statement, emphasizing the sacred and pure nature of cows.
