Mangaluru – Dakshina Kannada BJP district president Satish Kumpala has issued a stern warning against what he termed as Tejovadha (character assassination) targeting Dharmasthala. He cautioned that continued attempts to defame the revered shrine would prompt a strong response from the Hindu community.

Addressing the media at the district BJP office, Kumpala alleged that Left-leaning groups were behind the negative campaign and vowed full support to the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe based on a complaint by Anamika. “We have always backed impartial investigations. This time too, we support the SIT. But we will not tolerate outsiders maligning Dharmasthala on social media during the probe,” he asserted.

Referring to the allegations made by an unidentified individual, Kumpala said, “No one knows who this anonymous person is, claiming that orphan bodies are buried in Dharmasthala. Excavations are underway under SIT supervision based on his statement from a month ago. So far, there is no evidence to support his claims. If he says there are 25 more such sites, let them be investigated — but we must know on what grounds he is making such serious charges.”

He further remarked that the accuser’s credibility should be scrutinised, even suggesting a “mental evaluation” to determine the basis of his allegations.
