Capt Chowta to Represent India in Global Anti-Terror Delegation
Mangaluru: “My first opportunity to represent Bharat at a world forum couldn’t have been more meaningful,” said Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, following his appointment to the all-party delegation formed in the wake of Operation Sindoor. The Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has included Capt Chowta in the team that will visit key partner nations, including UN Security Council members, later this month.
The delegation will carry India’s firm message of zero tolerance towards terrorism, visiting countries such as Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia. As a former Army officer, Capt Chowta expressed pride in the military’s swift and decisive action during Operation Sindoor, which responded to a recent terror attack. “I’m honoured to be the voice of PM Narendra Modi’s vision and mission in this important initiative,” he said.
BJP Dakshina Kannada district president Sathish Kumpala described Capt Chowta’s selection as a moment of pride for the region. “His military background makes him the ideal representative to convey India’s strong anti-terror stance. Operation Sindoor proved that the New India is assertive and unafraid to take tough calls,” he noted.
The visit aims to expose Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and reinforce India’s commitment to global peace and national security.
Capt Chowta’s participation underlines the government’s strategic focus on leveraging experienced voices to represent India’s defence and diplomatic stand on the international stage.
