Mangaluru: A dramatic late-night accident unfolded near Ganjimutt’s industrial area on the outskirts of Mangaluru when a car burst into flames after crashing into an electric pole.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on June 30 near Narlapadavu, as the car was en route from Mogarukatte to Ganjimutt. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle when a dog suddenly darted across the road.

In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, the car veered off course and collided with a roadside electric pole. The impact triggered an explosion in the car’s air-conditioning unit, leading to a fire that swiftly engulfed the vehicle.

Despite the severity of the blaze, the driver managed to escape without injuries. The car, identified as a tourist vehicle registered to a resident of Kolambe, was completely destroyed in the fire.

Local authorities are investigating the incident, and electricity officials were alerted due to the pole damage.
