As part of the ongoing #SwachhataPakhwada2025 campaign, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) extended a helping hand to some of Dakshina Kannada’s most vulnerable citizens. The company distributed Health & Swachhata Kits to 210 individuals affected by Endosulfan across the taluks of Puttur, Sullia, Moodabidri, Vittla, and Belthangady.
The distribution drive saw the presence of key officials, including Shri Prashanth Baliga, General Manager – CSR, MRPL; Dr. Jacintha D’Souza, District Nodal Officer, Endosulfan Rehabilitation Programme; Dr. Deepak Rai, Taluk Health Officer, Puttur; Shri Sajivuddeen, District Coordinator, Endosulfan Rehabilitation Programme; Shri Keshav D Patali, Manager – CSR, MRPL; and Shri Umesh, Health Inspector, DHO Office.
Endosulfan, a banned pesticide, has left a devastating legacy in parts of Dakshina Kannada, causing severe health issues for generations. MRPL’s initiative aims to ease the burden on these communities by providing essential hygiene and healthcare support.
This effort is part of MRPL’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy to promote health, hygiene, and human dignity. By addressing the needs of marginalised groups, the refinery continues to demonstrate that its commitment to the community extends far beyond its industrial operations.
“Caring Beyond Chemistry” isn’t just a tagline for MRPL—it’s a philosophy in action.
