On Wednesday, 18-year-old Rohan Pinto sustained injuries after falling from a bus while trying to board it at the B-Mooda bus stop in Bantwal. He was accompanied by his friends, Astel Lobo and Ainish Crasta, as they waited to travel to college.

According to a complaint filed by Astel Lobo, the incident occurred when a KSRTC bus, heading from NG Circle toward Mangaluru, approached the bus stop. As Rohan hurried to board the bus through the rear door, the bus driver, identified as Srikant, allegedly drove forward abruptly and carelessly.

In the confusion, the KSRTC bus struck a privately-owned bus that was parked in front, leading Rohan to lose his balance and fall onto the road. As a result, he sustained injuries and was quickly taken to a nearby private clinic for initial treatment.

Following the initial care, Rohan was transferred to the ICU of a private hospital in Kankanady for more intensive medical attention. His current condition is being closely monitored by the medical team.

The Bantwal traffic police station has registered a case, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.

This incident highlights concerns over negligent driving and the importance of caution in public transportation operations.
