Mangaluru authorities have taken two individuals into custody in separate cases filed under the Pocso Act on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as 45-year-old Gopal Moolya and 19-year-old Pavan Kumar.
According to law enforcement, Moolya is accused of targeting a 13-year-old girl at her home. Reports indicate that he was acquainted with the family.
In a separate incident, Kumar allegedly harassed a 12-year-old girl while she was cycling back to her residence through an isolated stretch. The suspect, who was riding a two-wheeler, reportedly blocked her path before the girl managed to flee, leaving her bicycle behind. She immediately alerted her parents about the incident.
Following complaints from the families, police registered both cases and launched a thorough investigation. Authorities have assured stringent action against the accused, emphasizing their commitment to protecting the rights and safety of children.
