Mangaluru: A theft took place late Friday night at a store located in Thadugoli Junction, Naringana village, under the jurisdiction of Konaje police. The entire incident was recorded on surveillance cameras.

The establishment, owned by Vasanth, was targeted at approximately 2:30 am. A muscular intruder, wielding a metal rod, forcefully broke the lock of the store’s iron gate before sneaking inside.

Once inside, the thief struggled for nearly 30 minutes to pry open the wooden door securing the cash counter. After relentless efforts, he managed to break in and fled with around Rs 10,000 in cash along with merchandise valued at nearly Rs 15,000.

The security footage captured every move of the perpetrator, including a moment of confusion where he mistook the shop’s internet modem for the CCTV system’s hard drive and took it along.

A case has been officially lodged at the Konaje police station, and law enforcement officers have launched an investigation. Authorities are analyzing the video evidence to identify and track down the culprit.

Residents and shop owners in the locality are urged to remain vigilant and strengthen security measures to prevent such incidents.
