Authorities have initiated formal procedures to expel BJP leader Arun Kumar Puttila, a prominent figure from the Puttila family, from Dakshina Kannada district. In connection with this move, a summons has been served requiring Puttila to appear for an inquiry on June 6.
In light of the recent disturbances and unrest reported across Dakshina Kannada, officials have resolved to take decisive action against individuals believed to be contributing to tensions. As part of this, Arun Kumar Puttila is now facing possible deportation under Section 55 of the Karnataka Police Act, which allows authorities to extern individuals from sensitive zones to prevent further disruptions. The proposal includes relocating him to the Shahbad police station limits in Kalaburagi district.
The Puttur Assistant Commissioner’s Office has issued a notice summoning Puttila for questioning related to the deportation. The document clearly mentions that if he fails to appear, authorities will proceed to take a unilateral decision without further delay.
This move underscores the administration’s firm approach in curbing activities deemed detrimental to peace and security in the region. Officials are working swiftly to restore law and order, and this deportation plan is being viewed as a preventive strategy amid the ongoing tensions.
