On Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P visited flood-affected areas in Bantwal to assess the damage caused by the recent relentless rains. During the visit, he interacted with local residents and observed the severe impact of the flooding on low-lying areas due to the rising water levels of the Nethravathi River.
DC Muhilan reported that the floods had inundated several areas in Bantwal and emphasized the urgency of providing relief. “I have instructed officials to provide Rs 10,000 in compensation to each family affected by the floods.
