Mangaluru: In a new development in the Dharmasthala mass burial case, the investigating officer has submitted a formal request to the court for permission to carry out advanced forensic procedures — including brain mapping, fingerprint analysis, and narco-analysis — contingent upon the approval of the complainant witness, said Dakshina Kannada SP Dr Arun K.

The Superintendent of Police also disclosed that the investigation team recently found out that a related petition is already pending before the Supreme Court. This significant detail had not been shared by the complainant witness or the legal team representing him, prompting further verification of facts by the authorities.

According to local intelligence reports, there is a possibility that the witness may attempt to flee once the exhumation process is complete. Police suspect that this urgency to rush the exhumation might be aimed at avoiding standard legal protocols. This concern has reportedly been communicated to the advocate representing the complainant.

SP Arun assured the media that the exhumation will be carried out only when deemed appropriate by the investigation team and strictly in accordance with the established legal procedures.

The case, which has drawn intense public and media attention, continues to unfold with high-stakes forensic and legal implications.
