Dakshina Kannada: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry into the anonymous complaint alleging multiple burials in Dharmasthala village has reached a crucial phase and may conclude shortly.

No search operations were carried out on August 15, as the day marked Independence Day and was a government holiday. However, sources suggest that the final round of inspections could take place on August 16 (Saturday), possibly bringing the probe to an end.

Investigators have revealed that the skull handed over by the complainant does not belong to him, and he has provided no clear explanation about its origins. This has led to speculation that the skull may have been passed on by a third party, which has now become a fresh point of investigation.

Reports indicate that the SIT has already gathered key details about the identity of the anonymous complainant and the forces allegedly backing him. Adding weight to this suspicion, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar recently hinted at a larger conspiracy during discussions in the Assembly.

With the investigation set to resume, clarity is expected between Saturday and Monday on whether this will mark the final search or if further operations will follow. The outcome of the probe could play a crucial role in either closing the controversy or opening up new angles of inquiry.
