Dharmasthala: As part of the ‘Dharmasthala Chalo’ Abhiyan, senior BJP leaders, under the leadership of State President B. Y. Vijayendra, visited the sacred town of Dharmasthala on Sunday morning. They offered prayers to Lord Manjunatha Swamy at the famous temple before addressing the media.

Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra alleged that the state government has failed to curb misleading narratives being circulated about Dharmasthala in the name of the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry. He said that instead of ensuring fairness and safeguarding the reputation of this historic spiritual center, the administration has turned a blind eye to malicious campaigns.

The BJP leader emphasized that Dharmasthala has always been recognized as a symbol of faith, harmony, and service, but recent developments are aimed at tarnishing its sanctity. “The government should act decisively to halt propaganda that threatens social peace and religious sentiments,” Vijayendra urged.

He further warned that the BJP would intensify its struggle if the ruling dispensation continues to remain inactive. “We will not stay silent while baseless allegations are used to malign a revered institution. People across Karnataka will stand in support of Dharmasthala,” he added.

The BJP delegation reiterated that protecting religious centers and their dignity is a matter of public faith and collective responsibility. They stressed that no attempt to create division or unrest under the pretext of investigations would be tolerated.
