Mangaluru – In a dramatic development in the alleged Dharmasthala rape, murder, and illegal burial case, the key whistleblower has written to the Chief Justice of India, raising serious allegations against the Karnataka police and expressing fear for his life.
In a three-page letter, also marked to the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara, and the DG & IGP, the whistleblower has demanded an immediate, high-level inquiry into what he claims is a breach of confidentiality.
According to the letter, a statement the whistleblower gave to the Investigating Officer (IO) on July 14 has now surfaced in a YouTube video, where an individual claims to have received that information directly from the police. The whistleblower alleges that this leak has seriously undermined the credibility of the investigation and jeopardized his safety.
Even more troubling, the whistleblower claims the police have not yet launched any inquiry into the internal leak, despite the video being public for over 11 hours. He also reports being warned that his witness protection may be revoked—despite the fact that his disclosures helped open the case.
“This is a grave contradiction—leaking sensitive statements while threatening to strip away protective measures,” the letter to the Chief Justice of India reads.
The whistleblower also revealed that he refused to share the suspected burial sites in advance, citing fears of evidence tampering. However, the IO allegedly continued to pressure him for the information.
The case, already disturbing in its nature, now raises broader questions about the handling of sensitive whistleblower information and the institutional mechanisms meant to protect those who come forward.
