Mangaluru: Renowned anti-narcotics advocate Dr. G. Shreekumar Menon, an IRS officer and former Director General of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics, has unveiled the world’s largest collection of anti-drug messages in his latest book, Drugs Are Not Candies and Chocolates.

Designed to raise awareness about drug abuse, the book features 108 impactful messages, each paired with AI-generated images. A prolific writer with over 350 published articles in national and international journals, Dr. Menon holds a doctorate in Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances from Mangalore University and frequently contributes to Mangalore Today.

Targeted at youth and children, the book emphasizes a simple yet powerful message: “Stay away from drugs, keep away from drugs.” Each concise two-to-four-line message serves as an essential tool for anti-drug programs, seminars, and educational curricula.

Addressing the rising drug crisis among young people, the book underscores how educational institutions are prime targets for drug peddlers. A standout message warns, “Young generations are developing an aberrant appetite for drugs that can turn the world into a dangerous place.”

The book has already earned international acclaim, winning the Golden Book Award 2025. Its relevance extends across borders, making it an indispensable resource for schools, colleges, policymakers, and educators worldwide.
