Mangaluru: The prestigious Dr. P. Dayananda Pai SBF Youth Festival 2025, organized by Sangeet Bharati Pratishtan, successfully wrapped up on Sunday with a national-level music competition and the felicitation of winners.

Renowned Jury Panel & Honored Guests

The esteemed panel of judges included Padma Shri awardee Pandit Ronu Majumdar, along with Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi, Pandit Yashwant Vaishnav, Vidushi Poornima Bhat Kulkarni, Dr. Shashank Maktedar, and Ustad Rafiq Khan, President of Sangeet Bharati Pratishtan. Each of them was honored during the event.

Presiding over the function, Ustad Rafiq Khan addressed the gathering, while Krishna Hegde (MRPL), Trustee Ankush N. Nayak, and other dignitaries were present. The event featured speeches by Dr. Usha Prabha N. Nayak (Secretary) and Prof. Narendra L. Nayak (Vice President), and was hosted by Druthi Hegde.

The final round saw 24 outstanding young musicians (ages 18-30) competing in vocal and instrumental categories.

🥉 3rd Place: Mitra Bhattacharya, Kolkata

🥇 1st Place: Madhav Kalra, New Delhi
🥈 2nd Place: Aditya Abhijit Deshpande, Pune
🥉 3rd Place: Karthik Bhatt, Panemangalore

Enchanting Musical Performances

The festival concluded with a spellbinding jugalbandi, featuring Pandit Ronu Majumdar (flute), Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi (vocals), and Ustad Rafiq Khan (sitar), accompanied by Pandit Yashwant Vaishnav (tabla) and Prof. Narendra L. Nayak (harmonium).
