The family of a man who passed away at a private hospital in Puttur has filed a complaint at the Puttur town police station, alleging medical negligence as the cause of death.

Krishnappa Gowda (47), a resident of Kakkepadavu Pilibail in Bantwal taluk, was admitted to the private hospital in Darbe, Puttur, for treatment of fever. Following an examination, the attending doctor diagnosed him with a tumor under his tongue, recommending surgery for its removal.

Tragically, Gowda succumbed after the surgery, prompting his relatives and family members to gather outside the hospital in protest. They accused the doctor of negligence, attributing his death to the alleged lapses in medical care.

In response to the incident, authorities have dispatched the deceased’s body for a post-mortem examination at a hospital in Derlakatte. The Puttur Town Police have initiated an investigation into the matter to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Gowda’s untimely demise.
